Islamabad: Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif says the government is taking multiple initiatives to equip young people with professional skills and integrate them into the workforce.
Chairing a meeting in Islamabad on Wednesday, PM Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that the youth are the future of the nation. He directed that the pace of providing technical and vocational training in line with contemporary requirements be accelerated.
PM Shehbaz Sharif said comprehensive training programs launched through NAVTTC are already showing positive results in harnessing the potential of the youth workforce.
He said providing technical and vocational training along with internationally recognized certifications remains a top priority.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister was briefed on initiatives to create employment opportunities for youth both at domestic and international levels.
It was informed that Matric-Tech program has been introduced in thirty-two educational institutions under the Federal Ministry of Education to promote technical training. Similarly, an Inter-Tech program will soon be launched to provide vocational and technical training at the intermediate level.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed government's commitment to facilitate global investors especially in the Information Technology sector.
He was talking to the CEO of global digital operator VEON Group, Kaan Terzioglu in Islamabad.
The Prime Minister said Pakistan aims to ensure transparency while adopting digitalization in the economic sector.
He said all relevant departments are working in coordination to provide the people with high quality internet services after the auction of 5G spectrum to telecom operators.
PM Shehbaz Sharif noted that the interest of Pakistan's youth in telecom and information technology is attracting international investors.
Kaan Terzioglu praised the government's initiatives aimed at achieving a cashless economy and full digitalization of the economy. He expressed his company's intention to further increase investment in Pakistan.
