Islamabad: Prime Minister of Pakistan Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday said that Marka-e-Haq symbolized Pakistan's courage, resilience and unwavering commitment to defending its sovereignty against all forms of aggression.
In his message on the occasion of the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq, the Prime Minister said the day was an occasion to bow before Almighty Allah in gratitude for His countless blessings and to honour the martyrs, their families and the ghazis who defended the homeland like a steel wall.
He said the coordinated response of Pakistan's armed forces across land, sea, air and cyber domains established the country as an invincible nation capable of defending its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The Prime Minister said Marka-e-Haq had become a historic symbol of Pakistan's overwhelming dominance over aggression and demonstrated that the Pakistani nation was peace-loving yet courageous, resilient and dignified.
Paying tribute to the military leadership, the Prime Minister lauded Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for his bold leadership, while also appreciating Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber and Admiral Naveed Ashraf for their strategic prudence.
He reiterated that Pakistan desired peace but remained fully prepared to respond decisively to any aggression. He also reaffirmed the government's commitment to eliminating terrorism, including 'Fitna al-Khawarij' and 'Fitna al-Hindustan'.
Referring to the Kashmir issue, the Prime Minister said no story of Pakistan was complete without Kashmir, adding that lasting peace in South Asia was impossible without resolving the dispute in accordance with United Nations resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
The Prime Minister further said Pakistan had emerged as a responsible nation committed not only to defending itself but also contributing towards global peace and stability, including mediation efforts during the ongoing US-Iran conflict.
He urged the nation to honour the sacrifices of the martyrs by working selflessly for the glory and progress of the country.
