Islamabad: Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has directed authorities concerned to incorporate the latest technology in order to the complete expulsion of heinous market of counterfeit medicines in the country.
Presiding over a meeting regarding the matters of Ministry of National health in Islamabad today, PM Shehbaz Sharif instructed to encourage the pharma companies for accreditation from World Health Organization.
The Prime Minister said that accreditation from World Health Organization will upgrade the standard of Pakistani medicines, and the opportunities for exporting medicines will also be enhanced.
PM Shehbaz Sharif ordered to present a roadmap of collaboration between welfare organizations and private sectors for providing the medical facilities in the Federal Capital.
He termed the provision of the best medical facilities to the general public as the topmost priority of the government.
He instructed the relevant authorities for third party validation of the medical collages in order to ensure the provision of quality education. He made it clear that no compromise of any type will be accepted regarding the provision of high-quality medical education.
The Prime Minister said that political interference of any type will not be tolerated in the process of introducing reforms in the health sector.
The Prime Minister was apprised about the constraints in the way of progress of health sector and recommendations were also presented for sustainable solutions.
It was informed that entire process of the registration of medicines and medical equipment will be fully digitalized till the end of next month.
It was told that planning is being made to bring the newly established basic health units, regional blood centers and Isolation Hospital and Infections Treatment Center in Islamabad into the main stream with the cooperation of affluent class of the society.
Meanwhile Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has directed for early finalization of national industrial policy in consultation with all stakeholders for lasting solution of problems faced by industries and accelerating industrial growth.
Chairing a high level meeting in Islamabad on Thursday, he said development of domestic industries is inevitable for export-led economic growth. The Prime Minister said equipping the industries with international standard manpower and technology is the government's top priority.
He said recent economic policies have been devised with the aim to give a boost to domestic industries. He mentioned the tariff rationalization policy, and said it will promote investment in the country.
During the meeting, recommendations were presented for development of domestic industries. It was informed that the country's manufacturing sector will be revived through an effective industrial policy.
