Muzaffarabad: PML-N has won 9 out of 13 seats in Mirpur division in first phase of AJK Legislative Assembly general election while PPP could get only 4 seats.
Neck to neck competition was witnessed in certain constituencies. In some areas ruckus and violence affected election process.
One worker of PPP was killed during clash between political workers in Nakial. Ballot box was torched at one polling station in Bhimber. According to unofficial results PML-N maintained its electoral supremacy in Bhimber, Mirpur and Kotli and won important seats.
Former Prime Minister Anwar ul Haq met defeat in the election.
Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Justice (Retd) Ghulam Mustafa Mughal extended polling time from 5 p,m to 6 p,m on the request of different political parties and upsurge of voters in large number.
Overall voters turn out remained 40 to 50 percent. In certain constituencies turn out was witnessed 90 percent.
PPP has alleged rigging by PML-N in the general election.
PML-N while rejecting PPP allegations said Prime Minister and the government and the administration in Azad Kashmir are held by PPP.
