Islamabad: A meeting chaired by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi in Islamabad on Tuesday gave in-principle approval to a uniform nationwide system for issuing Police Character Certificate.

The Interior Minister said Police Clearance Certificates will now be issued through the National Police Bureau. He said the previously complex process for obtaining a Police Clearance Certificate has now been streamlined, accelerated and made fully online.

The Interior Minister also directed to establish a uniform system for issuing International Driving Permits.

He said a standardized system for Police Clearance Certificates and International Driving Permits will make the process easier for citizens traveling abroad.

Mohsin Naqvi said transforming National Police Bureau into an active and dynamic institution is one of our top priorities.

The Interior Minister said police martyrs are the pride of the nation and their great sacrifices for maintaining peace and eliminating crime in the country will always be remembered.
