Rawalpindi: Police have filed report regarding location of deputy superintendent Adiala Jail Rawalpindi before Justice Chaudhry Abdul Aziz of Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi bench in the petition filed against his detention .According to report the deputy superintendent was found last time in the location of 13-G Islamabad.The court however expressed annoyance declaring the police report unsatisfactory.The court while seeking reply from defence secretary and interior secretary adjourned the hearing of the case till September 30.Petitioner Memoona Riaz, Imaan Mazari counsel for petitioner and police of police station Saddar Baironi appeared in the court.The police filed report regarding location of Muhammad Akram in the court.The report said last location of Muhammad Akram is of G-13.Upon it the court declared police investigation unsatisfactory and expressed annoyance over it.The court remarked it seems as if police have touched this file for three times. Police changed the date a lso during investigation.The court while adjourning hearing till September 30 sought reply from secretary defence and secretary interior.It is pertinent to mention here Memoona Riaz wife of deputy superintendent Adiala jail Muhammad Akram had filed petition in the court making home secretary Punjab, defence secretary, superintendent Jail, IG Punjab and SHO police station Sadar Baironi respondents.The petition was filed through counsels imaan Mazari and Hadi Ali Chatha advocate .The petition said that on August 14, early in the morning the intelligence agencies took her husband into illegal custody from the residence in Jail officers colony.The petitioner gave application to police on August 15 for registration of case but police neither provided any information nor was the case registered.Raid was conducted on our home illegally without search warrant on August 15, night. All the devices of the home were switched off and taken into possession by them.Later it was known from media re ports that husband of the petitioner was arrested for facilitating Imran Khan PTI founder who is imprisoned in jail.The petition said this way the basic rights of the petitioner and her husband were usurped despite the fact his husband apparently has committed no offence. The petitioner does not know her husband has been kept where and why. It is feared her husband will be tortured physically and mentally.Her husband should be given right to defend and his trial be conducted in transparent manner as per article 10 and 10-A of the constitution. It was necessary he would have been presented in the court within 24 hours of his detention.The petitioner requested the court to admit the petition for hearing besides making police bound to register case of illegal detention. Arrangements be made for her and her children meeting with her husband.The respondents of the petition be directed to inform about all the reasons regarding detention of her husband to court.
