LAHORE: Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) Lahore has summoned PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi from Adiala jail in connection May 9 police station Shadman siege and arson case.Admn Judge Khalid Arshid summoned Shah Mehmood Qureshi on the request of investigating officer.The court while issuing notice to superintendent jail has summoned PTI leader on July 8.The learned judge will conduct jail trial of the co-accused in Kot Lakhpat jail on July 8.Rana Mudassar advocate appeared on behalf of PTI leader. He requested the court Shah Mehmood Q ureshi be summoned in person and he be ordered to appear in Lahore.The court accepted plea of Rana Mudassar advocate and issued orders for presenting Shah Mehmood Qureshi on next hearing.The court issued notice to superintendent Adiala jail.The ATC ordered to present Shah Mehmood Qureshi on July 8. Trial will take place in Kot Lakhpat jail.Earlier judge Khalid Arshid had sought arguments from special prosecutors on bail after arrest plea of Shah Mehmood Qureshi in 4 cases of siege and arson related to May 9 incident.Rana Mudassar Umar counsel for Shah Mehmood Qureshi had taken plea Shah Mehmood Qureshi was in Karachi on May 9. Not a single case was registered against him in Karachi. 8 cases were registered against Shah Mehmood Qureshi on political basis. The court should accept his bail after arrest plea in the registered cases.
