Islamabad: Power division has refuted the media reports about restriction on installation of two power meters.

Power division spokesperson has said the report about installations two power meters is absolutely false and misleading. It is vicious attempt to foment unrest among the people.

Spreading such false reports and sharing them is punishable offence under PECA act.

In a statement issued by power division it has been said as per NEPRA Manual 2021 second meter is justifiable under specific condition. Second meter can be installed in separate portion, circuit, entrance, and kitchen.

People should not pay attention to false news items.

Installation of second meter is allowed at such a residential place which comprises separate portion, circuit, entrance and separate kitchen.

Law was already in place for preventing misuse of electricity and benefit of subsidy and it is still in vogue fully.

Extend cooperation to power distribution companies for correct and transparent use of electricity meters.
