Karachi: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan Emir Engineer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has said that the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) is nothing but the name of one family and 40 feudal lords.Hafiz Naeemur Rehman expressed these views while addressing 'Change the System Public Convention' organized by Jamaat-e-Islami on Professor Abdul Ghafoor Ahmad Road, Gulistan-e-Jauhar. District Emir Naeem Akhtar and Karachi Public Aid Committee Secretary Najeeb Ayoubi also addressed the convention.Speaking on the occasion, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that the club of politically influential feudal lords have kept people in rural areas subjugated, and now they are taking over the cities.Similarly, Chaudhrys, Sardars and powerful families have made the nation slaves for generations. Those who received lands in reward for serving the British, and their descendants, still rule the nation. The people are trapped in a system of bureaucracy, exploitation, and oppression. Only to maintain their own rule and dominance, they have destroy ed education, the economy, Parliament, and the judiciary. All political parties operate on the basis of family rule, inheritance, and wills. All parties have aligned themselves with feudal lords and landlords. Only Jamaat-e-Islami is the true representative and voice of the people and can end this oppressive system.He said the country needs a major movement and struggle for systemic change. From November 21 to 23, Jamaat-e-Islami's All-Pakistan Public Gathering at Minar-e-Pakistan, Lahore, titled 'Change the System,' will be the starting point of this movement and struggle. A strategy to uproot this rotten system will be announced at the gathering.The convention also passed resolutions against government-backed land grabs in cooperative housing societies that are depriving rightful allottees of their properties, and against the extraordinary delay, cost escalation, financial irregularities, and public hardship caused by the BRT Red Line project. The resolutions demanded that a final completion date for th e Red Line be announced and that a commission of senior judges be formed to investigate cooperative sector issues.In his speech, he further said that only through the establishment of an Islamic, just, and fair system, the rule of law and the Constitution, the independence of the judiciary, the supremacy of Parliament, and respect for the public mandate can the country's problems be solved and the nation be freed from crises.Parties nurtured in the lap of the establishment have collectively distorted the Constitution, undermined Parliament, and subjugated the judiciary, he said, adding the 26th Amendment damaged what was left, and the 27th Amendment completed the destruction; the Constitution and democracy are being trampled.The economy is ruined and the country is burdened with debt. A rising stock market is not proof of economic improvement but an indicator of speculation. There is no real representation for workers, farmers, students, or the poor and middle class. Parliament is filled with representa tives protecting the interests of specific elites.Ruling parties are busy seeking the establishment's approval, and the establishment prefers corrupt individuals over honest and competent ones, he said.Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that Jamaat-e-Islami is working with the people to bring real change and revolution in the country. The youth are increasingly joining JI. From Karachi alone, the 'Bano Qabil' program has registered 1.2 million young people nationwide. Jamaat-e-Islami is also progressing rapidly among women. Alkhidmat's public service work is the largest in the country, and people trust JI and Alkhidmat because they know that every single penny they give is spent honestly.
