Islamabad: A delegation of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) met Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and discussed various important national, parliamentary and political matters, sources said.

According to sources, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar and Adviser to the Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah also joined the meeting. Senator Saleem Mandviwalla and Senator Sherry Rehman were also part of the meeting.

Sources said the PPP delegation raised a number of concerns regarding what it described as the party being ignored in important national, parliamentary and political matters. The PPP delegation also conveyed its reservations regarding the recently held Azad Jammu and Kashmir elections, sources said.

According to sources, the PPP expressed concern that if the government continued to fail to honour its commitments, it would become difficult for the party to continue moving forward together.

The PPP also demanded an investigation into allegations of rigging in the Azad Kashmir elections and called for an inquiry into what it described as serious electoral irregularities. Sources said the government delegation told the PPP that it was ready to initiate an investigation into the allegations if the party provided concrete evidence of alleged rigging.

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar assured the PPP delegation that its concerns regarding the legislative process would also be addressed, sources said. The two sides agreed to remain in contact and maintain coordination on legal and parliamentary affairs.

Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said he wanted both coalition partners to resolve their differences and assured the PPP representatives that he would continue playing his role in this regard, sources said.

'I want both coalition partners to resolve their differences, and I will continue to play my role in this regard, ' the Speaker said, according to sources. The Speaker further told the PPP delegation, 'My chamber is always open for you. '
