Islamabad: A delegation of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) senators from Sindh, comprising Senator Syed Waqar Mehdi, Senator Syed Masroor Ahsan and Senator Shahadat Awan, visited Imam Bargah Khadijat-ul-Kubra to offer condolences over the Tralai Kalan tragedy and to pray for the forgiveness of the martyrs.

The delegation expressed condolences to Allama Basharat Imami and other local figures, terming the incident extremely tragic and heartbreaking, and said that the entire nation was grieving over the loss of innocent lives. The senators demanded that the terrorists involved in the attack and their facilitators be given no leniency and be awarded exemplary punishment at the earliest.

Speaking on the occasion, Pesh Imam Allama Basharat Imami said that the affected community was patriotic and had always rendered sacrifices for the country. He added that such incidents could have been prevented had the National Action Plan been implemented in its true spirit.

Later, the delegation visited the graves of the martyrs and offered Fateha. Talking to the media, Senator Syed Waqar Mehdi strongly condemned the attack, stating that terrorists have no religion and are enemies of humanity. He said the government must deal with terrorism with an iron hand and continue the fight until the elimination of the last terrorist.

He also expressed concern over the absence of police security at the site during Friday prayers. Senator Waqar Mehdi said that the attack was not against any particular sect but against humanity as a whole, and stressed that the Pakistani nation would defeat terrorism through unity and solidarity.

Subsequently, the delegation visited Gulberg Nai Abadi and went to the residence of martyr Farman Ali Bosan, where they offered condolences to his family, especially his son.
