Lahore: Practice and Procedure Ordinance has been challenged in Lahore High Court (LHC).The petition has been filed by Azhar Siddique advocate making federal government and others respondents.The petitioner has taken the plea presidential ordinance is based on ill intent. The Supreme Court (SC) decision regarding practice and procedure bill is in place. The powers of SC cannot be increased or decreased through presidential ordinance.The petitioner prayed the court to nullify presidential ordinance besides issuing the order for not implementing presidential ordinance till the final decision of this petition.It is pertinent to mention here federal government had made amendment through ordinance in practice and procedure law in connection with fixation of cases for hearing in SC and constitution of benches.
