Islamabad: President of Pakistan has paid glowing tribute to renowned humanitarian Abdul Sattar Edhi on the occasion of his 10th death anniversary, describing him as the ultimate embodiment of compassion, selfless service and humanity.
In a message issued on Tuesday, the President said Abdul Sattar Edhi devoted his entire life to serving the poor, the abandoned and the vulnerable without discrimination of caste, creed or religion.
He said through the Edhi Foundation, the late philanthropist established the world’s largest volunteer ambulance network and created shelters, orphanages and free meal centres that became a source of hope for millions of people in need.
The President described Abdul Sattar Edhi as an enduring symbol of national pride whose institutions continue to serve millions of Pakistanis and stand as a lasting testament to his vision and commitment to humanity.
He said the nation renews its pledge to carry forward Edhi’s mission by promoting compassion, charity and respect for human dignity.
The President prayed that Allah Almighty may grant Abdul Sattar Edhi the highest place in Jannah.
