Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has promulgated an ordinance to transform the Frontier Constabulary (FC), a border security force, into Federal Force. Federal force will now discharge its duties throughout Pakistan including Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

As per ordinance the federal force will be used to maintain law and order, supplement the law enforcement agencies, and address the diverse security needs in a coordinated manner.

President has promulgated Frontier Constabulary Re-Organization Ordinance -2025.

Under this ordinance Frontier Constabulary will be called Federal Constabulary.

Jurisdiction powers of Federal constabulary are being extended all over the country under this ordinance.

According to Ordinance Federal Constabulary will have powers to work in all the four provinces and Islamabad as well.

Rules and regulations will be framed for Federal constabulary. Federal constabulary will comprise two divisions. One security division and second federal reserve division. Recruitment will be made from across the country for Federal Constabulary. Offices will be established all over the country for recruitment in Federal constabulary.
