½islamabad: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi held an important meeting with U.S. Acting Ambassador Natalie Baker in Islamabad. Both sides discussed cooperation regarding Pakistan-U.S. relations, counter-terrorism, and counter-narcotics.

Ms. Baker congratulated Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on receiving the Nishan-e-Imtiaz and extended her best wishes. She expressed sorrow and grief over the loss of lives caused by rains and flash floods in Pakistan, especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. She said that their deepest sympathies were with the bereaved families.

Mohsin Naqvi lauded U.S. President Donald Trump's remarkable contributions towards sustainable global peace, stating that by stopping four wars, including between Pakistan and India, President Trump had rendered a great service to humanity. He further expressed hope that President Trump's efforts for ceasefire in Russia-Ukraine and Gaza would prove successful. He highlighted that Pakistan-U.S. relations had broadened and strengthened during President Trump's tenure, and emphasized that Pakistan welcomes every step taken in favor of peace.
