President Zardari approves appointment of additional judges to various high courts; 13 IHC, LHC additional judges also take oath

Lahore: President Asif Ali Zardari has approved the appointment of additional judges to various high courts and the confirmation of some additional judges as permanent judges.President Asif Ali Zardari approved the appointment of additional judges to the Lahore High Court, Sindh High Court, Islamabad High Court and Balochistan High Court.President Asif Zardari has approved the appointment of Ghulam Sarwar Nihung, Advocate Supreme Court; Muhammad Ajmal Khan Zahid, Advocate Supreme Court; Amir Ajam Malik, Advocate Supreme Court; Ms. Shireen Imran, Advocate Supreme Court; Asad Ali Bajwa, Advocate Supreme Court; Muhammad Amjad Pervaiz, Advocate Supreme Court: Khalid Ibn-i-Aziz, Advocate Supreme Court; Munawar Iqbal Duggal, Advocate Supreme Court; Syed Farhad Ali Shah, Advocate Supreme Court and Muhammad Usman Ghani Rashid Cheema, Advocate Supreme Court as additional judges to the Lahore High Court.President Asif Zardari has approved the appointment of Muhammad Humayon Khan, Advocate High Court; Suresh Kuma r, District and Sessions Judge and Dr. Shah Nawaz Memon, Advocate Supreme Court as additional judges of Sindh High Court.President Asif Zardari has approved the appointment of Mian Muhammad Rauf Atta, Advocate Supreme Court; Allah Dad Roshan, District and Sessions Judge and Abdul Qayyum Lehri, District and Sessions Judge as additional judges of the Balochistan High Court.Meanwhile President Asif Zardari has approved the appointment of Ayyaz Shaukat, Advocate Supreme Court; Umair Majeed Malik, Advocate Supreme Court and Shahrukh Arjumand, District and Sessions Judge as additional judges of the Islamabad High Court.He also approved the confirmation of some additional judges of the Sindh High Court, Lahore High Court and Peshawar High Court as permanent judges.The President approved bringing the salaries, allowances and pensions of Supreme Court judges at par with those of judges of the Federal Constitutional Court.He also approved amendments to the 1997 Order concerning the leave, pension and privileg es of High Court judges.The President approved the appointment of Haroon Akhtar as the Prime Minister's Adviser on Industries and Production.Meanwhile the 13 additional judges of the Lahore High Court and Islamabad High Court have also taken oath. The oath of three IHC judges was administered by Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar and oath of the 10 additional judges of the LHC was administered by Chief Justice Miss Aalia Neelum.
