President Zardari, PM Shehbaz express grief over the tragic loss of lives and widespread destruction caused by floods in Bangladesh

Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif have expressed grief over the tragic loss of lives and the widespread destruction caused by the devastating floods and landslides in Bangladesh.

In a statement issued on Sunday, President Zardari said that Pakistan stands firmly with the Government and the people of Bangladesh at this difficult time. The President extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured and the well-being of all those affected.

Meanwhile PM Shehbaz Sharif has said that was deeply saddened by the tragic loss of life and widespread devastation caused by the severe floods and landslides in Bangladesh.

In a statement issued on X, PM Shehbaz Sharif said 'On behalf of the people of Pakistan, I extend my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and express our unwavering solidarity with the Government and people of Bangladesh. We pray for the swift recovery of the injured and the safety of all those affected'.

Meanwhile Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar in a separate statement issued on X wrote 'I am deeply saddened by the devastating floods and landslides in Bangladesh. My heartfelt condolences go to the families who have lost their loved ones, and my thoughts and prayers are with all those displaced and affected by this disaster'.

'I pay tribute to the courage and dedication of the rescue personnel, armed forces, medical teams, and relief workers who are working tirelessly to assist those in need' Ishaq Dar said.

Ishaq Dar said 'Pakistan stands in solidarity with the Government and people of Bangladesh, and I pray for the success of the ongoing rescue and relief efforts and for the safety of all those impacted'.
