Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif have expressed their firm resolve to continue war against the menace of terrorism until its complete elimination.
In their separate messages in connection with the anniversary of Army Public School Peshawar attack, they paid rich tribute to the sacrifices of the little martyrs of the APS massacre.
In his message, President Zardari reiterated that Pakistan's commitment to defeat terrorism is absolute and there can be no soft corner for terrorists or those who support, finance, shelter or justify them.
He said the nation will always honour the resilience of the APS families who transformed their grief into strength for Pakistan.
The President said the evidence of Indian involvement in efforts to destabilize our country is well documented. He said Pakistan will continue to expose these hostile activities and will defend its people with full resolve.
In his message on his X handler, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the nation will always stand united, firm and unwavering in its resolve to eradicate the scourge of terrorism.
He said the sacrifice of innocent children, teacher and staff in this tragedy is forever etched in our national conscience and remains a constant reminder of our collective responsibility to defeat terrorism.
The Prime Minister prayed to Allah Almighty to grant the martyrs the highest ranks in Jannat-ul-Firdous and patience to their families.
Meanwhile Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi paid a glowing tribute to the innocent martyrs of the APS tragedy. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that he salutes the courage, resilience, and great sacrifice of the brave students. The APS tragedy is one of the most tragic and darkest chapters in Pakistan's history, which exposed the cruel and ruthless face of terrorism to the entire world. On December 16, 2014, barbarians targeted innocent children, launching a direct attack on the State of Pakistan and the future of the nation.
Interior Minister stated that the great sacrifice of the innocent martyrs of APS showed Pakistan a clear, decisive, and unwavering national path against terrorism. The pure blood of the martyrs permanently sealed the decision that there is no longer any room for ambiguity or expediency in the fight against terrorism. On the basis of this national resolve, the State of Pakistan initiated comprehensive, coordinated, and sustained actions against terrorism.
Mohsin Naqvi highlighted that the State has made it clear that terrorism, regardless of the name, slogan, or flag under which it is carried out, is unacceptable in all circumstances. The complete eradication of Fitna-e-Hindustan and its facilitators is the State's unequivocal and final decision. Pakistan's clear and strong declaration is that the war against terrorism will be taken to its logical conclusion.
