Islamabad: President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari has extended his warm greetings to the people of Pakistan and the international community on the occasion of World Interfaith Harmony Week, observed from February 1 to 7, 2026.

In his message, President Zardari emphasized that the week serves as a reminder of shared values such as peace, compassion, mutual respect, and coexistence, which are central to all faiths and belief systems. Highlighting Pakistan's rich religious, cultural, and ethnic diversity, he noted that the Constitution guarantees freedom of religion and equal rights for all citizens, reflecting the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

President Zardari stressed that interfaith understanding is not merely a moral principle but a practical necessity, ensuring safe schools, secure places of worship, trustworthy communities, and dignified livelihoods. He underlined that in an era marked by conflict and growing intolerance, dialogue, education, and engagement among followers of different religions are essential to counter prejudice and strengthen social cohesion.

He reaffirmed that Islam, like all major religions, upholds justice, peaceful cooperation, and respect for human dignity, and that compassion, kindness, and tolerance are universal values that transcend differences. The President commended religious leaders, scholars, educators, civil society organizations, and youth for promoting harmony and dialogue within communities.

Concluding his message, President Zardari called on all citizens to renew their commitment to interfaith harmony, protect minority rights, and work collectively for a peaceful and inclusive world, reaffirming Pakistan's dedication to fostering interfaith understanding nationally and internationally.
