Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has restrained private medical college from receiving annual fee more than Rs 18 lac from a girl student.

IHC while issuing notice has sought reply from federation, PMDC and college administration.

Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir issued order on the petition filed by the girl student of medical college.

Shafqat Abbas Tarar counsel for the petitioner said that the petitioner is student of second year of MBBS. PMDC has fixed Rs 18 lac annual fee but medical college is demanding Rs 2450000 annual fee instead of Rs 1800000. Increase in annual fee by private medical college is violation of MDC act-2022.

The counsel said application was given to college administration but no action was taken. Threats are being given for stopping his client from sitting in annual examination and for not issuing admit card.

The counsel requested the court that the demanding fee more than Rs 18 lac be declared null and void. The court should restrain college from receiving the fee in excess of Rs 18 lac.

The court while stopping college from receiving fee more than Rs 18 lac till next hearing and seeking reply from the respondents adjourned the hearing of the case.
