Lahore: The process for purchasing election material for Local Bodies (LB) polls in Punjab has begun following the consultative meeting between Election Commission (EC) and Punjab government.

EC has allowed provincial EC Punjab to purchase the election material . Provincial EC Punjab will soon issue tender in connection with purchase of election material.

As per sources Punjab government had shown willingness to hold LB polls in Punjab during December 15, 2026 to January 15, 2027.

The step taken by EC for timely purchasing election material is being declared as effort to stop further delay in holding LB polls in Punjab.
