Rawalpindi: Exhumation of grave and postmortem of newly wedded girl who was killed under the decision of Jirga in the name of honor in the area of Pirwadhai was completed on Monday.
Police have arrested 5 more accused taking tally of arrested persons to 8.
On the occasion of exhumation concerned magistrate and heavy contingent of police were present. Tents were pegged around the grave yard. Dr Misbah medical officer of Holy Family hospital was also present on the occasion.
Medical officer took samples of body for postmortem. Punjab Forensic team also obtained samples.
As per sources marks of violence were found on head and face of the victim girl. Her face had turned blue.
Medical officer confirmed to police that she was strangled to death.
She was again buried on completion of process of exhumation.
Earlier head of jirga, vice chairman of local union council, Asmat Ullah Khan cousin of victim. Arab Gul father of the victim , husband Zia ur Rehman, father in law and uncle of the victim and others were arrested.
Earlier police had arrested grave yard committee secretary, Saif ur Rehman Khan, Grave digger Rashid Mehmood and rickshaw driver Khial Muhammad.
Police had registered case on the report of Zia ur Rehman husband of the victim on July 21 under No 926.
He took the plea that he was married to Sidra on January 17 this year. A petty quarrel took place between him and Sidra over some domestic feud on July 11. Her wife decamped with 10 tolas gold and 1.50 lac rupees till late night. Search was conducted for her in in-laws and every where, it came to light that she had illicit relations one Usman and she had run away with her.
On the other hand police was informed Sidra was murdered.
CPO Rawalpindi assigned task to Pir Wadhai police . Police investigated conducted investigation into dilapiedated grave in Chatti grave yard and the causes behind murder started coming to open.
Asmat Ullah, cousin and Arab Gul father of victim lured her from Muzaffarabad to Rawalpindi where Jirga under Asmat Ullah Khan decided to murder her. She was strangled to death on night between July 16 and 17. The body was taken to Chatti grave yard on loader rickshaw on July 17 in the wee hours where she was buried and grave was levelled.
3 accused were arrested initially who confessed murder and secret burial of the body besides disclosing name of all the names who were involved in killing of girl.
Usman who claimed to be husband of Sidra had surrendered himself to Pirwadhai police a day earlier in Sidra murder case.
Father of Usman brought his son from Muzaffarabad and handed over to Pirwadhai police.
