Islamabad: Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Senator Rubina Khalid, in her message on the International Day for Tolerance, stated that promoting tolerance, respect, and social harmony is an urgent societal need. She said intolerance weakens nations, while tolerance builds strong, peaceful, and progressive societies.
Senator Rubina Khalid added that the mission of BISP goes beyond financial support. It also aims to strengthen social inclusion and uphold the dignity of every individual. She stated that BISP extends support to vulnerable families irrespective of religion, ethnicity, language, culture, or any form of social identity, reflecting the core values of equality and social justice.
She further emphasized that respecting diverse opinions is essential for a thriving democracy. Promoting tolerance and mutual respect is vital to counter hatred, division, and extremism in society. 'Today, we reaffirm our commitment to building a Pakistan where inclusion, dignity, peace, and acceptance define our national character,' she said.
