Proposal for increase in sales tax a heinous joke, we will go for shutter down strike : Traders


Islamabad: All Pakistan Anjuman-e-Tajiran has said proposal for enhancement in sales tax is heinous joke and the traders community will be forced to go for shutter down strike if Asan tax scheme is not introduced.



This was said by All Pakistan Anjuman-e-Tajiran and traders action committee Islamabad president Ajmal Baloch, secretary and chairman Traders and Market Development Commitment ICCI Khalid Chaudhry , president F-10 Markaz Ahmad Khan , general secretary Naeem Iqbal , F-11 president Mahr Allah Dad, Jinnah super president Asad Aziz, G-8 Markaz president Ajab Khan and others.



They said the traders are highly worried over storm of the inflation. The attitude of district administration with the traders is slaves like. In this situation government has proposed to increase sales tax by one percent in the budget to be presented on June 5 which is grave joke with the nation.



They said implementing IMF orders in letter and spirit is tantamount to enmity with the nation.



The price of petrol has reduced the purchasing power of the people. Due to it business has collapsed largely.



Government should fulfill its pledges on reduction in taxes, they said.



If Asan tax scheme is not introduced according to promise then traders community will be forced to go for shutter down strike.
