Islamabad: Supreme Court (SC) has issued written order regarding approval of bail in respect of PTI MPA Hafiz Farhat Abbas in May 9 cases.

The court has maintained that the prosecution has to prove the allegation of hatching criminal conspiracy by Farhat Abbas in the case still.

No recovery has been made from the petitioner. The record reveals that the petitioner has extended cooperation in the investigation into case.

The apprehension regarding the harassment of the petitioner despite his arrest by police, his humiliation and his cooperation in investigation can not be overlooked.

It has been said in 4-page order of justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan regarding hearing of bail before arrest plea that as per record uptill now and preliminary investigation case needs more inquiry against the petitioner.

The accused has not been nominated in FIR registered on May 12, 2023 in connection with May 9 incident. The plaintiff was involved in the case on the basis of tweets, audio and video clips on social media after June 10, witness statement.

This allegation has been leveled against co-accused Imtiaz Mehmood. Bail before arrest plea of Imtiaz Mehmood has already been approved by this court.

The petitioner is declared entitled to bail before arrest due to his persistent cooperation in investigation into case.

The petitioner is directed to cooperate in further investigation.
