Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif while directing to take practical steps for providing house finance facility to common man in effective manner has said that provision of houses to low income groups and , affordable housing projects are among our priorities.
He said this while presiding a meeting regarding Ministry of Housing and Works in Islamabad.
The meeting was given a briefing on the strategic roadmap of the Ministry of Housing and Works.
It was told in the meeting reforms are being introduced in the tax structure with reference to construction sector.
Consultation is underway between the Federal Board of Revenue and the provinces regarding tax standardization for the construction sector.

Strategy is being evolved on the construction of homes for low-income groups under public-private partnership Real Estate Regulatory Authority will be established with reference to rules and regulations for the real estate and housing sectors.
Ministry of Housing is working in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance, FBR, Securities and Exchange Commission and provinces on Real Estate Investment Trust with reference to house financing.
The meeting was attended by law minister Azam Nazir Tarar, minister for economic affairs Ahad Khan Cheema, finance minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, minister for housing and works Riaz Pirzada, minister for information, technology, telecom Shizza Fatima. advisor to PM Rana Sana Ullah, state minister for railways and finance Bilal Azhar Kiani and senior officers of respective departments.
