Islamabad: Federal Constitutional Court (FCC) has issued notice to Attorney General (AG) in the case regarding provision of medical facilities to all prisoners on the pattern of PTI founder Imran Khan.
Justice Aamer Farooq remarked treatment of prisoner from private hospital is against jail manual.
A 3-member bench of FCC presided over by Chief Justice (CJ) Aminuddin Khan took up for hearing the petitions filed by the prisoners seeking provision of medical facilities on the pattern of Imran Khan.
The FCC issued notice to AG for assistance.
During the hearing of the case justice Aamer Farooq remarked treatment in private hospital is against jail manual. Why private hospital. Why the treatment cannot take place in PIMS or Polyclinic.
Justice Ali Baqar Najafi said jail manual is clear. There should be no discriminatory treatment to any one. All prisoners should be meted out equal treatment.
The court while issuing notice to AG for assistance and other respondents on appeal pleas of prisoners adjourned the hearing of the case till today (Tuesday).
