PTI decides to become part of JCP

Islamabad: PTI has decided in principal to become part of Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) formally.PTI has agreed on nominating members for JCP from both the houses of the parliament.The communication of special meeting of PTI special committee was issued.According to communication detailed briefing was given in regard to nomination of two members from opposition for JCP and letter of Speaker National Assembly (NA) in this respect.The meeting was told that the responsibilities of 13-member judicial commission have been enhanced.Judicial commission will make appointments of judges of supreme court, high courts and federal Shariat court.Judicial commission will keep a watch on performance of judges of high court and will work out their annual performance report.It was told in the meeting Judicial commission is authorized to present proposals on appropriate name for judges of high court. This judicial commission will constitute benches of supreme court and high courts.one third of mem bers of judicial commission can summon meeting of commission.The decisions of 13-member commission will be made with simple majority of members.It was also told that according to clause D absence of any member will not affect the credibility of decision of commission. The decision of commission will be considered correct despite non presence of any member.It will be a long term commission The role of two opposition members is very vital in decision making of the commission.The political committee accepted the proposal unanimously for becoming part of judicial commission. The decision will be sent to core committee for endorsement and then will be presented to PTI chairman for final approval.
