PTI founder, others could not be indicted in GHQ attack reference for third time

Islamabad: PTI founder and others could not be indicted for even third time in May 9 GHQ attack case on Saturday.May 9 related GHQ attack case came up for hearing in Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) led by judge Amjid Ali Shah.The counsels for Sheikh Rashid Ahmad, Amjid Khan Niazi, Umar Tanvir Butt, Maj (Retd) Tahid Sadiq, Umar Ayoub and others gave arguments in the court.The prosecutor while objecting over giving arguments by the lawyers without power of attorney said only those lawyers should give arguments who have filed power of attorney in the court.Public prosecutor Zahir Shah said lawyers of 102 persons accused in the case have no power of attorney.He requested the court to appoint state counsel to pursue the cases of the accused.Counsels for Shireen Mazari, Shakil Niazi and others completed their arguments.Later arguments were given by the prosecution.Ahead of hearing court had summoned Shah Mehmood Qureshi from Lahore. He will be provided copies of challan.Court had issued call up notice to chief minister KP Ali Amin Gandapur in connection with indictment.125 accused including PTI founder were likely to be indicted Saturday during hearing of GHQ attack case.
