Islamabad: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar Advocate has said that Sohail Afridi was nominated as the candidate for Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa so that he can openly facilitate terrorists. He said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is a destabilizing/instigative group and a facilitator of terrorists.

Speaking at a press conference in Islamabad alongside the Prime Minister's Coordinator Ikhtiyar Wali Khan, the federal minister said that the families of our martyrs feel proud of their high status; the nation salutes the country's martyrs. 'The Prime Minister and the Field Marshal took part in the martyrs' funeral prayers; we salute the courage and resolve of the brave sons of the motherland,' he added.

Attaullah Tarar said there is an instigative group in the country that wants to destroy law and order. During the period of the person now sitting in jail (Imran Khan), the National Action Plan was ended and terrorists were brought back.

He said that during Operation Rad-ul-Fasaad and Zarb-e-Azb the whole nation witnessed that we achieved successes: terrorists were forced to retreat, were neutralized, and peace was restored in the country - but those terrorists were brought back and facilitation continues to this day.

He said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, along with Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, attended the funeral prayers of the soldiers martyred in the recent terrorist attack in Orakzai district.

The Minister said the martyred soldiers sacrificed their lives for the protection and peace of the country. He said the families of the martyrs have expressed pride in the sacrifices of their loved ones.

Attaullah Tarar said that during the tenure of PTI, the terrorists were brought back to Pakistan which caused serious damage to the country.

He said the hard-earned peace in Pakistan was restored through military operations Zarb-e-Azb and Radd-ul-Fasaad, which broke the back of terrorism across the country.

The Information Minister said Pakistan was founded on the 27th night of Ramadan and will remain till the Day of Judgment.

He emphasized that Pakistan's security policy is evolved in Islamabad and not elsewhere.

Attaullah Tarar praised Pakistan's security forces, saying they stand like an iron wall against terrorism and that their sacrifices will be written in golden words in history.

The Information Minister said the entire disruptive faction of PTI facilitates terrorists. He pointed to Imran Khan's past statements in which Khan said 'these are good people, we should negotiate with them and bring them back,' but those people do not spare the innocent; they attack schools and mosques.

He claimed that the person sitting in jail is the chief sponsor of terrorists and provides them facilitation, but elements trying to create instability in the country will not be allowed to succeed.

He said Sohail Afridi has been nominated for Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa because Ali Amin Gandapur had the grievance that 'you were not properly facilitating the terrorists and you could not stop action against them and you were not meeting the founder of PTI Imran Khan's expectations,' which is why he was removed from office.

Attaullah Tarar said Imran Khan reportedly said, 'Bring someone who is a close associate of the wanted Murad Saeed and who is also soft toward terrorists'; Sohail Afridi was brought in so that terrorists and their facilitators would be fully supported and promoted.

He told PTI and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government clearly that Pakistan's security policy is made in Islamabad and will continue to be made there - it will not be made in Kabul. He said they will never allow the situation in which security policy is made in Kabul and terrorists dominate Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Despite your 12 years in government, he added, terrorism in the province has been at its peak.

The Minister also referred to a recent London court ruling against a PTI supporter, calling it a vindication of the government's stance. He said the decision has exposed the baseless allegations made against Pakistan's state institutions.

Speaking on the occasion, Ikhtiar Wali Khan said although the change of chief ministers in provinces is a routine political matter, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is suffering due to poor governance and the rising threat of terrorism. He said PTI government had left Pakistan on the verge of bankruptcy, but under the current government, the country's economy is now recovering.
