Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has sent to Chairman Senate defection reference against its senator Saifullah Abro under article 63-A of the constitution

Following this development he has been declared defector from the party.

According to reference filed by PTI parliamentary leader in Senate senator Ali Zafar, Saifullah Abro voted in favor of the amendment. It further says that on November 10 and 15, 2025, he cast votes supporting the 27th Constitutional Amendment. PTI subsequently issued a show-cause notice to him, but no response was received within the stipulated time.

According to party all proceedings was completed with transparency under the constitution . Defection declaration has been sent to election commission through chairman Senate so that further proceedings could be initiated against him as per constitution.

Political circles have said this is clear example of implementation of party policy and respect for constitutional limitations.

This serves as principled message for other members in future.
