Public money will be invested in projects with assured result: PM

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said public money will be invested in development projects with assured results. Water reservoirs and hydropower projects are among the top priorities for development spending, he said this while chairing a meeting in Islamabad Monday to review the current year's development budget and the proposed Public Sector Development Programme for the next fiscal year.

He said budget will be provided to ministries showing better performance on priority basis. He admired finance minister on successful launch of PANDA bond and its positive welcome in market. PM also commended the performance of the ministries of Railways, Information Technology, and Power saying public-private partnership be encouraged maximum in development projects. The projects for enhancing water reservoirs will be given priority.

The meeting was briefed on the review of the current year's PSDP and the proposed development projects and required funds for the next financial year. It was also informed about the progress on major national water storage and hydropower projects, including Dasu Dam, Diamer-Bhasha Dam, and Mohmand Dam.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Ishaq Dar, federal ministers Ahsan Iqbal, Wahid Khan Cheema, Muhammad Aurangzeb , Rana Tanvir Hussain, Hanif Abbasi, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Sardar Awais Khan Leghari, Mian Muhammad Moin Wattoo, Abdul Alim Khan, Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and others.
