Lahore: Punjab government has enhanced the marriage grant and death grant in respect of laborers.

According to labor department the marriage grant which is given in connection with marriage of children of laborers has been increased by Rs 2 lac. This grant has been enhanced from Rs 4 lac to Rs 6 lac. The new marriage grant for a worker's daughter or the lady worker herself is now Rs. 600,000.

Likewise the death grant which is given to their heirs on the death of laborers too has been increased from Rs 8 lac to Rs 10 lac.

Government spokesperson said this step has been taken for the welfare and strengthening their financial assistance.
