Lahore: Punjab government while giving approval to increase domicile fee by 175 percent has decided to completely digitalize the system of issuance of domicile in the province. Notification in this regard has been issued.
Under the new decision the domicile fee has been enhanced from Rs 200 to Rs 550. This includes Rs 200 basic fee, Rs 300 affidavit and Rs 50 service charges. As per government policy Rs 500 will have to be deposited in national treasury while Rs 50 will be given to Punjab Information Technology Board as service charges.
Government has decided to make process of acquisition of domicile completely digital and paperless.
The citizens will now be able to file online application for domicile and they will pay fee through e-Pay Punjab. They will receive prepared domicile in their homes through courier. A voluntary domicile management system has been introduced in this regard.
