Islamabad: Punjab government report over condition of the civilians convicted by military courts has been presented in Supreme Court (SC).

According to contents of the report pertaining to facilities available to prisoners 27 out of 28 accused are in jail in Punjab. All the facilities are being provided to civilians convicted and sentenced by military courts as per jail rules 1978.

It has been further said in the report medical officer of jail conducted medical screening on their entry to jail. Warm and quality meal is provided to prisoners three times daily according to official menu. Jail authorities have provided facility of bed and blanket to the prisoners.

Report said facility for having meeting with their family members on every Friday has also been provided to the prisoners. The family members can bring food, fruit and other things during meeting.

The accused were awarded punishment under section 3 of official secret act.
