Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif has said digital wallet was introduced for the first time with reference to Ramadan Relief Package through which the funds reached the deserving families in easy and a transparent manner.

Ramadan package was introduced indiscriminately for the entire Pakistan including Gilgit- Baltistan and Azad Kashmir. This model be adopted in other government schemes. , he said this while chairing a reviewing meeting regarding Ramadan Relief Package in Islamabad Friday.

The efforts made by State Bank of Pakistan, BISP, PTA, NADRA and other departments in ensuring the transparency of Ramadan Relief Package are commendable, PM added. .

The meeting was informed that 1.9 million digital payments were made under Ramadan Relief Package.

The meeting was attended by federal ministers Ahsan Iqbal, Rana Tanvir Hussain. Ahad Khan Cheema, Atta Ullah Tarar, Sheeza Fatima, Governor state bank, senior government officials and representatives of private companies with reference to Ramadan relief package.
