Lahore: Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, in a statement issued from Mansoorah on the advent of the holy month of Ramadan, extended heartfelt greetings to the nation and the Muslim Ummah, urging people to make this blessed month a means of self-purification, social reform, and collective welfare.He said Ramadan is a month of piety, patience, sincerity, sacrifice, and a renewed bond with the Holy Quran. He called upon individuals to focus not only on personal spiritual growth but also on helping the needy, promoting compassion, and strengthening social solidarity.The JI chief said Ramadan teaches steadfastness on truth and resistance against unjust and obsolete systems. He urged the nation to intensify peaceful and organized struggle for the supremacy of Islam, establishment of justice, and elimination of exploitative and oppressive structures.Highlighting the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said the Muslim Ummah must not forget the suffering of the oppressed Pale stinians during this sacred month. He reaffirmed thatJamaat-e-Islami would continue to stand firmly with oppressed humanity and raise its voice against tyranny at all levels. He stressed the need for unity among Muslim nations to provide practical and effective support to the people of Palestine.He further called upon the Pakistani nation to unite against internal and external forces of oppression, saying that national unity, moral revival, and collective struggle were essential to steer the country out of its deepening crises. Emphasizing ideological clarity, he said, 'Only by reconnecting with the thought of Allama Iqbal and Syed Abul A'la Maududi can we truly emerge as a nation - therein lies our salvation.'He concluded with prayers that Allah Almighty may bless Ramadan for the Muslim Ummah with peace, unity, progress, and deliverance.
