Rawalpindi:Rawalpindi lawyers have staged complete strike and boycotted courts against the decision of imposition of governor rule and declaration of emergency in KP.

District Bar Association (DBA) Rawalpindi while expressing grave reservations on governor rule and declaration of emergency in KP has opposed both these steps taken by the federal government.

Rawalpindi lawyers observed complete strike against this decision of federal government and boycotted court's proceedings.

Bar Association held its meeting on this occasion. President Bar Association Tariq Mehmood, Sajid Awan , secretary Qamar Khan Niazi and others addressed the meeting.

A resolution against imposition of governor rule and declaration of emergency was presented by member Bar Malik Saleh Muhammad which was adopted unanimously.

The lawyers leaders while expressing reservation over imposition of article 232 and 234 of the constitution said abolishing provincial mandate is against democratic mandate. Meeting legal and constitutional requirements is must for imposition of governor rule and declaration of emergency. Use of powers for political purpose runs contrary to supremacy of constitution.

Rule of constitution and respect to people mandate be ensured in the country.
