Remittances from Overseas Pakistanis See Significant Increase

Islamabad: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) reported a significant rise in remittances from overseas Pakistanis during December 2025, with inflows totaling $3.6 billion. This reflects a 16.5 percent year-on-year increase and a 12.6 percent rise compared to the previous month.

The SBP said the growth underscores the confidence and crucial role of Pakistanis living abroad. During the first half of the financial year 2025-26, total remittances reached $19.7 billion, up 10.6 percent from $17.8 billion during the same period last year.

Among key contributors, Saudi Arabia led with $813.1 million, followed by the United Arab Emirates with $726.1 million, the United Kingdom with $559.7 million, and the United States with $301.7 million.
