Islamabad: Pakistan has categorically rejected report of CBS News wherein misleading and sensationlized claims were made with reference to presence of Iranian military aircraft at Nur Khan Air Base.

Foreign Office (FO) has said narrative based on such speculations has apparently been concocted to cause harm to ongoing efforts for peace and stability in the region.

The statement said several aircrafts from Iran and US reached Pakistan after ceasefire and during early period of talks so that facility could be provided to diplomatic staff, security teams and administrative staff affiliated with dialogue process.

Some aircraft and support staff remained in Pakistan temporarily in anticipation of future rounds of engagement

FO has further said although formal talks have not started again so far , yet , diplomatic contacts have continued persistently at high level.

In this perspective the visits of Iranian Foreign Minister (FM) to Islamabad was made possible under existing administrative and logistic facilities.

Iranian aircrafts currently present in Pakistan had come during ceasefire and they have nothing to do with any military operation or contingency arrangement. Contrary to it the claims are sheer speculations, misleading and against the facts.

FO said Pakistan remains committed to supporting all sincere efforts aimed at promoting dialogue, reducing tensions and advancing regional and global peace, stability and security.
