Kabul: Resistance groups operating against the Taliban in Afghanistan have claimed carrying out multiple attacks against Taliban positions and personnel in five provinces during the past several days.

The Afghan Freedom Front (AFF) claimed that it targeted a Taliban post at a former Afghan Army base in Tagab district of Kapisa province on September 9, killing three Taliban personnel and injuring two others.

The Afghan Unity Front (AUF) claimed that two Taliban personnel were killed in a targeted attack in Lashkar Gah, Helmand province, on September 11.

The group further claimed that a Taliban member associated with the Third Brigade of Corps 205 in Zabul province was also targeted and killed in an attack on the same day.

According to AUF, messages from the resistance leadership and religious scholars' fatwas were distributed at 28 locations across Herat city on September 11.

The group said the material was distributed at several locations, including Lala-i-Mai Market, Qala-i-Ikhtiyaruddin, Mustafa Chowk, Bagh-e-Millat and Chahar Bagh.

The National Resistance Front (NRF) also claimed that its fighters attacked a Taliban post in Yaftal Payan area of Badakhshan province on September 10.

According to the NRF, the ensuing clash between Taliban forces and resistance fighters continued for around 40 minutes, leaving three Taliban personnel injured.

The resistance groups claimed that various attacks and activities against the Taliban were carried out over three days in Kapisa, Helmand, Zabul, Badakhshan and Herat provinces.

The groups also announced that they would continue their multi-pronged activities against the Taliban.

There was no immediate response from the Taliban authorities to the claims.
