Rs100 per litre relief result of JI struggle, says Hafiz Naeemur Rehman

Islamabad: Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has said the government has been forced to provide a Rs100 per litre relief on petrol as a result of JI's campaign against the oppressive petroleum levy.

He said JI would review Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's proposed scheme to provide a Rs100 per litre relief on petrol to motorcyclists, rickshaw drivers and owners of small cars, and announce its position on the scheme tonight.

Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said the prime minister's scheme would not affect JI's ongoing campaign against the petroleum levy. 'Our struggle, long march and sit-ins against the petroleum levy will continue until the levy is completely abolished,' he said.
