Lahore: Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Secretary General Ameerul Azeem has warned that the Pakistani nation will not tolerate rulers who deviate from the country's principled stance on Palestine. He said that during the Gaza Million Marches held in Karachi and Lahore, millions of people made it clear to the rulers that if they deviated from the national stance, they would lose power and the nation would not tolerate them even for a single day. He emphasized that Pakistan recognizes only one state - Palestine - and that Israel is illegally occupying Palestinian land.Ameerul Azeem expressed these views while addressing a ceremony held at Mansoorah in honor of Syed Muhammad Azizuddin, a young Pakistani who took part in the Global Samud Flotilla, a mission carrying humanitarian aid for the besieged people of Gaza.The ceremony was also addressed by Ameer Lahore Chapter, Ziauddin Ansari Advocate. Earlier, upon Azizuddin's return to Pakistan, he received a warm welcome at Jamaat-e-Islami's headquarters, Mansoorah. Se cretary General Ameerul Azeem and Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore's Ameer personally greeted him.Speaking on the occasion, Syed Muhammad Azizuddin shared that the flotilla consisted of 44 boats, out of which 43 were intercepted and seized by Israeli forces. However, his boat - carrying 22 volunteers from the UK, Trkiye, and Malaysia - managed to reach Tunisia safely.He added that their boat was loaded with dry milk for children, medicines, and clean drinking water. The Israeli forces had been monitoring them for several days through drones and even attacked with water cannons, but they managed to evade capture using their high-speed motorboat.Azizuddin further said that when the Global Samud Flotilla departed from Spain, it included more than 500 participants from various countries - including political leaders, human rights activists, and Pakistan's former senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan as well as Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg.
