Islamabad:Supreme Court (SC) has acquitted mother in the case of murdering her child for want of evidence.

A two members bench under Justice Malik Shahzad took up the case for hearing.

The accused Aneeqa was charged with murdering her 5 years child. Case against the accused was registered in police station Sahala Islamabad.

The counsel prince Rehan said the accused was charged with burning her child to death.

The counsel for the accused took the plea no solid evidence is available against the accused. Neither petrol nor some thing else was recovered from the accused. No direct witness against the accused is there.

The state counsel said video statement of the accused is available in this regard. The accused has admitted to murder her child in a TV show.

Justice Shakeel Ahmad remarked only TV programs are not acceptable evidence. There should be other evidence too along with TV program. The investigating officer did not discharge his responsibility in this case.

Justice Malik Shahzad said the evidences run contrary to the medical report.
