Islamabad: Supreme Court (SC) has admitted for hearing appeal plea against death sentence of accused Imran Khan, resident of Mianawali in murder case.

A 3-member bench of SC presided over by Justice Musarrat Hilali while accepting plea has issued notice and sought reply.

The court adjourned the hearing for indefinite period.

Hearing took place on Monday.

Trial court had awarded death sentence to the convict Imran Khan for murdering Muhammad Iqbal in Mianwali. Lahore High court upheld this sentence.

The counsel for petitioner told the court the said court had not even heard them. Forensic report was also not authentic.

Upon it Imran Khan had challenged his conviction in SC.

The apex court admitted appeal plea for hearing.
