SC constitutional bench adjourns hearing of case against 25th constitutional amendment

Islamabad: Supreme Court (SC) constitutional bench has adjourned hearing of case against 25th constitutional amendment for two weeks.

The case came up for hearing before 5-member constitutional bench of SC presided over by Justice Amin ud Din Khan Monday.

The petitioner Wasim Sajjad said we challenged 25th constitutional amendment in SC.

Additional Attorney General (AAG) Amir Rehman said we want to file reply in this case.

Counsel Wasim Sajjad said the case has been fixed after too much difficulties. Give some date.

Justice Amin ud Din Khan said now cases are being fixed regularly.

The hearing of the case was adjourned for two weeks.

It is pertinent to mention here Supreme Court while admitting for hearing petition against 25th constitutional amendment in September 2020 had issued notices to federation, Attorney General and other respondents.

A 3-member bench of SC presided over by Justice Umar Ata Bandial had heard the petition against 25th constitutional amendment.
