Islamabad: Lawyers Action Committee (LAC) has said Supreme Court (SC) constitutional bench is by product of constitutional amendments, therefore, petitions against 26th constitutional amendment be fixed and full court be constituted.
" Judicial system has been shattered. We have decided All Pakistan National Convention will be held. We will now accelerate the pace of movement, this was said by leaders of LAC while addressing joint press conference under lawyers leader Hamid Khan here Thursday.
It is our demand that the appointment of judges be stopped without scrutinizing constitutional status of 26th constitutional amendment. If SC reaches this conclusion that 26th constitutional amendment is unconstitutional then new judges will be relieved of.
The petitions against 26th constitutional amendment be fixed for hearing and full court be constituted.
Hamid Khan advocate told the media men that meeting of All Pakistan Lawyers Action committee was held a day before under senior lawyers leader Munir A Malik. We have decided that All Pakistan National conventions will be held.
We demand of SC judges to safeguard the constitution. Offensive has been got launched against the constitution by form-47 government.
