Islamabad: Hearing of case of appointments of vice chancellors in KP universities will take place in Supreme Court (SC) constitutional bench this week.

SC constitutional bench presided over by Justice Amin ud Din Khan will hear the case.

Posts of vice chancellors are lying vacant in 19 universities of KP. PTI had advertised posts of vice chancellors in 1922.

Election Commission had allowed KP care taker government to appoint vice chancellors.

PTI had rejected care taker government recommendations after coming into power in 2024.

Peshawar High Court (PHC) had ordered KP government to implement recommendations as per law. KP government had challenged PHC decision in Supreme Court.
