Islamabad: Supreme Court (SC) constitutional bench has withdrawn fine of Rs 20000 imposed on former Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Jawad S Khawaja.

The counsel for Justice Jawad S Khawaja completed his arguments in intra court appeal against trial of civilians in military courts.

Justice Musarrat Hilali remarked is protesting a crime.

A 7-member bench of SC constitutional bench took up the case for hearing Monday.

Khawaja Ahmad Hussain counsel for former CJP Jawad S Khawaja argued court martial of civilians cannot be conducted at any cost. The procedure of military courts runs contrary to norms of transparent trial.

The counsel further said all the five judges of SC did not agree with transparency of process of trial in military courts.

Justice Hassan Azhar Rizvi inquired is there no difference between those conducting explosions and common citizens.

Khawaja Ahmad Hussain said I am not giving arguments in defence of any accused or terrorist. Had there been court martial law of civilians then 21st amendment would not have been made.
