Islamabad: Supreme Court (SC) has issued notice to Punjab government on bail plea of PTI senator Ejaz Chaudhry in May 9 related cases.

The court has stopped police from arresting PTI leader Hafiz Farhat Abbas. The interim bail of Imtiaz Sheikh was extended till Thursday.

A 3-meber bench of SC took up interim bail pleas of PTI leaders Hafiz Farhat Abbas and Imtiaz Sheikh for hearing Tuesday.

The court approved bail plea of Hafiz Farhat Abbas till Thursday against surety bonds of Rs 50000.

Counsel Latif Khosa told the court Imtiaz Sheikh is already on interim bail. Upon it the court extended interim bail till Thursday.

Following the court's orders DSP Lahore Dr Javed stopped police from arresting PTI leaders.

The court upheld the order for completing trial in 4 months in all cases related to May 9.
